Description
Casa Feliz Studios SRO is a 60 unit, single room occupancy residential building located in San Jose serving low income tenants. The structure is a four story, wood framed building over a post tensioned elevated podium with below grade parking. The project achieved a LEED NC–2.2 “Gold” rating. One of the features incorporated into the project was a living roof which provides a habitat for a local endangered butterfly. The project is designed to provide as much natural ventilation and toxic-free building materials as possible. Each unit has its own ventilation system with low VOC emitting linoleum flooring, carpeting and adhesives, and non-urea formaldehyde built-in cabinets.
